Purpose of the Cricket BC Sports Policy
INCORPORATION AND THE GOAL OF THE ENTITY
The West Coast Cricket BC Organization was officially incorporated on October 13, 2004, under the Society Act of British Columbia. The Association also operates under the name Cricket BC.
The Association’s objectives are to:
- Promote and grow cricket as an amateur sport throughout the Province of British Columbia.
- Encourage youth participation by fostering Cricket BC programs in schools and creating pathways for young athletes to engage with the sport.
- Oversee and regulate the game of cricket across the province to ensure consistency, fairness, and sustainability.
- Select and prepare representative teams to compete with other Cricket BC organizations across Canada and internationally.
- Affiliate and collaborate with the Canadian BC or other recognized governing bodies responsible for amateur cricket in BC.
- Acquire, manage, and utilize resources—including facilities, equipment, property, and financial assets—through purchase, lease, license, donation, or other means, in support of the Association’s objectives and the broader advancement of cricket in British Columbia.
